ONE Lesson.
A life forever changed.
And it begins with YOU.
This Christmas, we are calling on generous-hearted Queenslanders to share the gift of life education and help a child stand up, speak out, and stay safe.
For a tax deductible gift of $33, you can provide just ONE lesson that puts a stop to bullying, abuse and online threats to children.
Help kids stay safe and face today’s overwhelming world with confidence.
Isla* was just 12 years old when she started facing the most relentless bullying from her entire year level. What began in the schoolyard quickly spread to her online world, where cruel messages followed her everywhere she went, at home, in her pocket, waiting in the next notification. There was no escape.
Isolated, anxious, and confused, Isla felt like she had no one to turn to. After months of relentless bullying, this once level-headed, bright, well-spoken and kind young girl, was almost unrecognisable: quiet, withdrawn and sad, as if someone had taken the light from behind her eyes.
Looking back on her daughter’s pain, Jacinta*, Isla’s mother, lamented, “No wonder bullied kids take their own life.”
ONE Life Ed lesson could have changed everything for Isla.
ONE lesson could have given her the courage to speak up.
ONE lesson could have empowered a school mate to stand with her.
ONE lesson and her classmates could have understood the life-long impact of bullying.
ONE lesson and the bullying could have finally stopped.
You have the power to give children like Isla the support she never had.
With a $33 gift, you can provide a life-saving lesson that helps a child break free from fear and find their voice, or empower an entire classroom.
Imagine being the reason a child stands up for themselves for the first time, or the reason a child breaks from the crowd, and stands with the bullying victim.
Your gift could make that possible.
The change you can make this Christmas.
ONE LESSON was all it took for…
11-year-old Lily*
To speak up against the horrific abuse she had suffered against the hands of her mother’s partner. She kept the suffering to herself for two years, under threats from her abuser.
After one Life Ed lesson about protective behaviours, boundaries and consent. Lily bravely spoke up, and her abuser was arrested. He can no longer harm anyone else.
9-year-old Jason
To understand that his mother’s domestically violent relationship isn’t a respectful way to act toward women. Jason’s mother, Katie, was scared that her son would grow up thinking that what he witnessed growing up is a normal way to behave toward a partner.
After one Life Ed Lesson, Katie feels supported, now that her son is learning about respectful relationships and consent.
11-year-old Ava*
To block the stranger on Snapchat who was asking her to send bikini pictures. After posting a photo with her friends at the beach, a stranger started messaging her, and asking for close-up pictures of her and her friends in their swimwear.
After one Life Ed lesson on cybersafety and respectful relationships, she knew to trust her gut, reported the stranger and told her parents.
I am forever thankful to you for helping Lily find her voice and understand she has the right to speak out."
For over 35 years, Life Ed Qld and our iconic mascot Healthy Harold have equipped children with the knowledge and resilience to navigate these challenges.
Through interactive, evidence-based lessons, we teach essential skills to help kids stay safe, make healthy choices, and build lasting confidence.
Our goal is to prepare every child for the world they are growing up in,
but we can’t do it without you.
Giving $33 is more than just donating a lesson,
it’s a gift of hope, safety and a brighter future.
