Life Education Queensland is a health promotion charity and the state’s largest non-government provider of drug, health and safety education to children. We have a vision of generations of healthy young Australians living to their full potential.
As part of our growth strategy, we have recently created a new Social Impact team who will be working with selected school and community groups to implement a whole of school approach to health and wellbeing. With a focus on place-based initiatives, the team will work towards supporting school communities to create environments where students are enabled and supported to make healthy, positive choices regarding their own health and wellbeing.
We are now seeking a Community Development Officer to join our team and work within the Logan, Ipswich and northern Gold Coast regions.
In this exciting role you will be initially responsible for generating interest and engaging selected schools to participate in our Healthy Eats program and to work with the school and other community partners to identify and implement a range of strategies and interventions to increase vegetable and fruit consumption of primary school students.
Over time, the focus of the role will expand to include a target approach towards social / emotional learning and to reduce bullying.
