We are adhering to the Department of Education and Health guidelines and monitoring updates regularly.

Some of the extra precautions our team is taking include:

If you would like more information about the measures we are taking here at Life Ed Qld, please email our Education Manager, Sharon Lansley on slansley@lifeedqld.org.au.

If there are any additional measures that you would like our team to undertake, including the delivery of our program in the classroom rather than in the Mobile Learning Centre, we encourage you to contact us ahead of your upcoming visit.

Life Ed Qld wants to reassure our school and community partners that we are taking significant actions, informed by the relevant authorities, to ensure our upcoming visits are as safe and effective as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you continue to deliver your program in schools during the COVID-19 outbreak?

Life Ed Qld remains committed to honouring every booking of our program. The health and wellbeing of students, teachers, parents and our Life Ed Qld educators is paramount to us at this time. Whilst the current advice is for schools and Early Learning Centres to remain open, we are working closely with the Department of Education and Queensland Health to play our role in prioritising the health and safety of Queensland children and the broader community.

How will I be notified of changes to my booking?

Should your booking for our program need to be amended in any way, one of our School Partnerships team will contact your school coordinator directly. We remain committed to honouring every booking of our program for 2020.

What precautions are your educators taking during sessions?

Some of the extra precautions our team are taking include:

  • Using sanitising agents during lessons, as required, and communicating with your teachers regarding the health and wellbeing of students whilst in the mobile learning centre.
  • We will encourage minimal body contact and limit activities which promote students being in close proximity wherever possible.
  • In between sessions, we will open all doors and wipe all surfaces that were touched or handled by students including all door handles and railings.
  • Some sessions may need to be delayed for a few minutes to ensure this is done properly.
  • At the end of every workday all vans will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. This will include spraying the air with disinfectant spray; wiping down of all surfaces with disinfectant wipes or surfaces wiped down after spraying with a surface spray; all air conditioners will be disinfected and vacuumed; all floors will be vacuumed.
  • Our educators will wash their hands frequently with soap and water and use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser, before and after each session.

None of our staff will be participating in any face-to-face professional learning for the foreseeable future.

Will COVID-19 affect bookings later in the year?

Whilst government recommendations regarding schools staying open may change in the coming days or weeks, we remain committed to honouring all school bookings for 2020. Should your booking be impacted, you will be contacted by us, and your visit rescheduled to a time convenient to your school.
