As we look towards the future, and refine our reach and impact goals across Qld, we are looking for a passionate part time Sexual Health Educator.

The Role

A visit from Life Ed Qld is greatly valued by schools, and in this exciting and unique role, you will deliver vital content aligned with the national Health and Physical Education curriculum. Topics include body image, identity, puberty, hygiene, friendships, consent, personal boundaries and personal safety. This is a relationships and sexual health focused role, delivering mostly to senior primary school children. From time to time you will also be required to deliver age appropriate health education content to students in early learning centres and secondary schools.

To be successful, you must demonstrate confidence to deliver the required content to school age children, and parents, and also supporting classroom teachers with content integration.

Applicants with a background in education, health promotion, sexual health or nursing will be highly regarded.

You will be flexible and able to engage students in a variety of settings, whether it be a classroom, hall or library.

You will be comfortable delivering parent information sessions, either face to face or online, be a confident speaker, and able to build and maintain positive relationships with schools. You will be able to deal with sensitive topics and provide reassurance of the value of the program to address any parental concerns.

This role will be offered as part-time basis as .5 or 19 hours per week. There is some flexibility with the schedule of these hours.

As part of our commitment to keeping children and young people safe, you must provide a current Qld Working with Children Blue Card prior to commencement.
