Our bullying and violence prevention program Stand for Respect receives award.
Life Ed Queensland has been named the 2026 Child Safe Organisation winner at the launch of Queensland Child Protection Week.
We’re incredibly proud to receive this honour as Queensland celebrates 40 years of Child Protection Week, with Life Ed Queensland among ten organisations and individuals recognised as this year’s child safety champions.
The Child Safe Organisation Award recognises our Stand for Respect program – a whole-of-school approach to bullying and violence prevention that has supported more than 3,500 young people across southeast Queensland over the past two years.
The program recognises that bullying is a form of harm, and that preventing it is a direct child safety action.
Life Ed Queensland CEO Taryn Black says it’s especially meaningful to receive the award during the 40th anniversary of Child Protection Week.

We are ready to take Stand for Respect to more schools, sporting clubs and community groups across Queensland, helping even more young people become upstanders in their communities.”
The impact of Stand for Respect
Stand for Respect has led to significant reductions in bullying and other harmful behaviours, while increasing students’ confidence to intervene when they witness unsafe behaviour.
Developed in partnership with Griffith University and shaped by children’s voices from the very beginning, the program gives students, teachers and parents the skills and confidence to recognise, respond to and prevent all types of bullying – helping to build respectful, child-safe communities.
Griffith University’s evaluation found significant reductions in bullying and in risk factors linked to future family and domestic violence. Behind those results, are hundreds of children who now feel safer, more confident and supported.
