Hosted by Life Ed Queensland, in partnership with Griffith University, the Stand Up for Respect Online Network Meeting empowers teachers to manage and prevent bullying behaviours among students. This lively and informative session features talks and Q&A with a panel of behaviour change experts. Teachers will also come together to learn from one another in a supportive and welcoming space, strengthening their capacity for bullying prevention.

As a behaviour change expert and researcher, Sharyn has extensive experience working on governmental and non-governmental health and wellbeing initiatives across Australia. 

 


Aimee Riedel

Dr Aimee Riedel
Senior Lecturer in Marketing, Griffith University

Aimee has a long-held interest in understanding people who are experiencing vulnerabilities and identifying strategies to support these individuals. Among several topics, her research work has focused on young adult populations, and concerns of trolling.


Shannon ObrienShannon O’Brien
PhD Candidate, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Queensland University of Technology

Shannon is an experienced social worker, teacher and trained school counsellor. Her PhD thesis explores how to support teachers and school staff to intervene effectively in bullying among students.

Marilyn Campbell

Prof. Marilyn Campbell
School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Queensland University of Technology

Marilyn’s research expertise is in bullying and cyberbullying, and her work has involved advising Australian Federal and State governments and UNESCO on bullying. Marilyn also worked as a teacher for 20 years. She later became a registered psychologist, working as a school counsellor to provide intervention strategies for parents and teachers.
