Developing healthy, respectful relationships

With 1 in 4 Australian school children experiencing bullying every few weeks and domestic violence in Queensland on the rise – it’s more important now than ever to educate students to empower them to make safe choices.

In 2019, we surveyed 149 teachers across 73 Queensland primary schools to provide feedback on education needs in their schools:

The Life Ed Qld program covers a range of topics on relationships including:

  • Developing healthy friendships
  • Respectful relationships
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Strategies to combat cyberbullying
  • Puberty, personal development, and consent education.

Our Talk About It program discusses many of these topics that help students across Queensland navigate puberty, sexual health and relationships. Although puberty can be a challenging time, when children know what to expect, it empowers their confidence and social and emotional wellbeing.
