Teachers can choose to implement this 5-week unit of work which promotes kindness to self, peers, and community. It aims to reduce the incidence of bullying by taking a strengths-based approach, using kindness and positive social support as key strategies to motivate behaviour change.
In addition to the 45-minute lessons, the program relies on the repetition of daily routine. Through repetition of daily practices, the aim is to see a positive behavioural and cultural shift towards kindness. Harold’s Kind Classrooms is a 5-week commitment for students, which includes a Kindness pledge in the first lesson.
