Brisbane family has won the Term 3 competition prize

Brisbane motheroftwo Amanda says she was ecstatic to learn her family had won the Harold’s Family Comp prize for Term 3

Amanda, her partner Neil and children Hugo, 6 and Indira, 3 have received a $1000 gift card to spend at their nearest JB Hi-Fi store.

The Mt Gravatt East family went into the prize draw after providing feedback about the Life Ed program in our regular parent feedback survey. Amanda recalls that Hugo was excited to take part in a My Body Matters session with his prep class when Life Ed visited his school recently.

“Hugo came home and told us all about it,” Amanda says.

“He said that he learned all about good health, the importance of eating well, and what is good for the brain, body and the muscles.”

Amanda remembers the Life Ed program from her own school days after moving to Australia from New Zealand at the age of nine. She says the program’s holistic focus on physical, social and emotional health is needed more than ever.

“It’s a lot different now than when I was growing up, especially the social media aspect and bullying. I’m very aware of it. So, I am glad that Life Ed is covering those topics from a bullying perspective and a social perspective,” Amanda says.

“I’m also glad that children are receiving such important messages about diet and nutrition. There are a lot of preservatives in foods these days and whatever we put in our bodies affects the brain and the heart.”

Currently planning her upcoming wedding with partner Neil, Amanda said the prize couldn’t have come at a better time.

“We never win anything! When I received the phone call it made me so happy.”

Thanks to our competition supporters – Gold Coast Bodyboard Club, JB Hi-Fi and Rebel Sports for supplying great prizes throughout the year.

Stay tuned to hear about our next winner at the end of Term 4.
